Risk screening and assessments are essential components of HIV testing and prevention services.

Risk screening is an ongoing practice that we are most familiar utilizing in person and face-to-face with our clients and community members to help guide our provision of services, referrals, and health education efforts.

Given the unexpected shifts in service delivery due to the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic, many HIV testing and prevention programs in nonclinical settings have had to quickly adapt testing strategies and community engagement to best meet the needs of their communities in a new “virtual” world. How have we best transitioned the practice of risk screening in the Telehealth encounter?

Providers actively offering HIV/STI/HCV testing in nonclinical settings, virtually guided HIV self-testing, and HIV prevention services, including PrEP and/or PEP.

In this webinar, Kendrell Taylor from NASTAD (National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors) will discuss their survey of HIV Self-Testing amongst their members, while sharing best-practices that can sustain HIV Self-Testing services in and beyond COVD-19, and address integrating HIV Self-Testing alongside other Self-Testing services.
